Vulnerable patient drowned while under hospital's care
Mid Staffordshire General Hospitals NHS Trust has been fined for failing to ensure the safety of a 75-year-old patient under its care at Cannock Chase Hospital during May 2004.
The man died following an incident in which he was recovered from a water feature in the grounds of the hospital.
The Trust was fined £10,000, with costs of £4,000, for breaching the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974.
