Workman died under collapsed wall
Building contractor Thomas Powley and Son Limited of Gretna, Dumfriesshire, has been fined £3,400 for breaching the requirements of health and safety law in the circumstances of the death of an employee and the injury of a colleague as they constructed a slurry reservoir at a farm near Cummertrees in the county.
The pair were caught under a collapsing wall, the company had not implemented a safe system of work and lacked the full competence to undertake such a project.
