Dementia sufferer found dead in hospital bath
A patient has been discovered by his wife, dead and unattended by staff, in a bath at the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust's Broadgreen hospital.
On arrival the deceased's wife found her husband's bed unoccupied and, with the assistance of nurses, managed to unlock the bathroom door at which time the distressing discovery was made.
Merseyside police and the HSE are investigating the incident, and await post-mortem results.
