Car derails train in Yorkshire collision, driver killed
The driver of a car has been killed after it left the highway at Copmanthorpe, Yorkshire, on Monday evening and was struck on the East Coast Main Line by a southbound train which was partially derailed.
No other person is believed to have been injured in the incident which clearly had the potential to have claimed many lives had the entire train derailed at speed.
