Seychelles safety week underway
As part of Safety Week 2006 on the Seychelles a 4-day safety workshop is taking place at the premises of Indian Ocean Tuna with a view to training delegates from all sectors of the island's economy.
In her opening address the Minister for Employment and Social Affairs spoke of the need to increase risk assessment knowledge in a changing workplace environment where new forms of production create new risks, with an accent on training, education and awareness-raising.
In the first 9 months of this year 109 workplace accidents were recorded, with one fatality.
