Benelux rail safety exercise staged
Operation "Oefening Grensweg" took place on Saturday evening on the main Benelux rail line near the Belgian village of Hoogstraten where a major derailment simulation was staged involving 900 emergency personnel and some 250 travellers, the coordinated safety exercise drill is in anticipation of the opening of the high speed Schiphol Amsterdam - Antwerp rail link in April 2007.
