Ship captain drunk in Danube ship collision
The collision of a German and Dutch freight ship on the Danube at Aschach in Eferding, Austria, on Friday night has been attributed to human error and one of the skippers being impaired by alcohol, the authorities declined to name which captain on Saturday.
Substantial damage was sustained by both vessels, the upper area of the Dutch boat and the lower section of the German one from which water was being pumped out on Saturday.
