Investigation begun into fatal South African gold mine fire
A South African gold miner was overcome by smoke inhalation when a fire broke out 2,700 metres underground at No 5 shaft of Drdgold's Blyvooruitzicht mine near Carletonville, southwest of Johannesburg, fire crews took a full day to control the blaze prior to investigation getting underway.
