New York demolition worker dragged over building edge
The New York Department of Buildings has issued a stop work order and violations of unsafe practice against a city demolition company following the midweek accident in the Bronx in which an operator of excavating machinery was dragged over the ledge of a vacant 8-storey property being demolished there.
It is understood that the victim was pushing a long 2-tonne concrete section along to the edge of the 2nd floor level when it became unstable on the edge and pulled him over in a 9-metre fall.
