Acas help SME's with the ICE Regs
Acas is holding 1-day training events to assist small organisations who must comply with the latest stage of the Information and Consultation of Employee Regulations 2005.
From 6th April 2007, companies with between 100 and 149 staff will be required to share more company information with their employees who will have the right to be:
informed about the company's economic situation;
informed and consulted about employment prospects; and
informed and consulted about decisions likely to lead to substantial changes in work organisation or contractual relations.
The Regs apply to businesses with 50 or more employees from 6 April 2008.
Comment:
"Those companies with existing arrangements may need to review them whilst those with no formal structures and processes need to be putting them in place. Effective 2-way communications is one of the basic building blocks of good employee relations. Effective information and consultation can make a major contribution to organisational performance." - Acas East of England Area Director.
