Canadian media helicopter crashes, 2 injured
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is investigating the crash of a media-chartered helicopter which crashed shortly after maintenance work, leaving the pilot and mechanic seriously injured.
The helicopter owned by Canadian Traffic Network and hired by Toronto radio station, AM640, had just taken off from the Region of Waterloo International Airport but encountered difficulties which led to it crashing in a field in North Dumfries, just southeast of the airport, fire crews deployed airbags to free one of the victims from under the wreckage.
