HSA demands excavator bucket vigilance on sites
In the wake of the death of a 41-year old Irish worker killed after being struck by an excavator bucket at a quarry site in Kerry, the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) is reminding managers that no personnel should be working within the immediate vicinity of excavator buckets and that strict attention be paid to their mechanical locking pins.
The HSA is responding to a recent rise in such incidents.
