05-06 Offshore industry statistics published
HSE has published the latest provisional statistics listing offshore industry accidents, dangerous occurrences and ill health reported to HSE from 1st April 2005 to 31st March 2006.
They disclose no major upward trends, perhaps an encouraging sign given that the workforce increased significantly (21.8%).
2 persons were killed and 50 major injuries were reported; the over-3-day injury rate decreased from 586 to 541.8 per 100,000 workers; 491 dangerous occurrences were reported, compared with 558 in 2004/05, a decrease of 12%
