One dead after train hits snow clearing crew in Massachusett
A 46-year old employee of Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) has been killed and 2 colleagues injured after being struck by a train during snow clearing on the track at Wellington station in Medford.
A considerable accumulation of snow was being cleared and the incident occurred shortly after a northbound train had passed in the opposite direction, it has been speculated that its momentum raised whirls of snow, reducing visibility for the work crew on the MBTA Orange Line.
