risk assessment for dining rooms
Hi All
I have been asked to complete a risk assessment for two dining rooms and a kitchenette in the college where i work. Which legislation is involved in completing the r/a.
At present i've got: MHSW, HASWA, Fire r/a, Food Safety, Electricity regs, first aid, safety signs, any more?
This r/a is for groups that hire out our facilities.

you need to look at the workplace (health safety and
welfare) regs.
You also need to look at the HSE CIS sheets, there is some practical
guidance here for catering issues and dining room staff.
Don't forget the Food Safety Act, depends how far you assessment is going

There are few more you could look at, Noise, Provision and Use of Work
Equipment (PUWER), PPE Regs, COSHH Regs, Manual Handling Regs. When you do the RA, break down all the jobs into task steps then look at just the significant risks attached to the hazards you have identified, consider all the control measures in place all ready, including the engineering controls.
